Starting out in the 90’s with a luminous pop sound filled with melancholy, their idols were The Smiths, The Cure, and R.E.M, and thankfully they’re still their references today. They have beaten a career path as long as it is wide, outstaying those ephemeral bands thrown up by the fashion of the day, one of the groups with the biggest presence at festivals.
They have a faithful following, real fans of the The Red Room world. “Lhr”, “Largometraje”, “Radio”, “4”, “Nuevos tiempos”, “Cuando ya no quede nada” and “Universal” contain pop indie hits which have become classics in their own right, connecting their life with fans in Europe and South America.
The latest record released to date was 14th in the list of biggest selling records in Spain. It was most listened to record on myspace Spain for several weeks too. They have had more albums and singles in the top 40 in the past too, reaching the highest positions in the charts. Controversial, much loved and sometimes loathed by Spanish indie fans, this is a band you either get or you don’t.
