Parties on the beach until dawn, the tickling sensation of sand between your feet…when September arrives, this love of summer reminds you that there is really no one waiting for you. They evoke that bittersweet youth of summer. Never before has a pair of songs on myspace caught our attention so much. They are called Cut Your Hair and are no Pavement II nor have any relation to the song. They move in this success between post-punk with hints of surf and dream pop that groups like The Drums and Wild Nothing left us. Young handsome boys, songs filled with nostalgia...another instance of music looking back to the 80´s.
The first song they released was ¨Utah in Pictures¨ which, with that ¨lo lo lo¨ of the finale, immediately seemed to us like a tremendous hit. We had it on repeat all summer, imagining ourselves singing it in a venue, but longing for more. We were worried of the song becoming another one hit wonder, but then ¨Fuck Off¨ arrived and the possibility of listening to pieces of other songs still unreleased made the doubts disappear. They gave another surprise with Halloween Night. This time, Cut Your Hair was armed with epic guitars to begin at the top, ready to rock out to the entire stadium with waves of calm and intensity. This contrast until the end blew up everything. Another instant hit, and already there go three hits from the group.
Keep their name in mind because you will hear it again…
